3. How to Submit a DMCA Notice (No Web Form)

Send your notice by email or mail. To be effective under U.S. law, include substantially:

  • Your physical or electronic signature
  • Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to be infringed
  • Identification of the material to be removed/disabled and enough information to locate it (Defakes link / case ID)
  • Your contact info (address, phone, email)
  • A statement of good-faith belief the use is not authorized
  • A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the notice is accurate and you're authorized (GovInfo)

Tip: Put "DMCA Notice" in the subject line and include the Defakes URL(s).

4. What We Do After Receiving a Valid Notice

We may remove or disable access to the referenced material and, where appropriate, notify the user who submitted it.

5. Counter-Notice (Optional Process)

If your content was removed due to a DMCA notice and you believe it was a mistake or misidentification, you may submit a counter-notice. It generally must include:

  • Your signature
  • Identification of what was removed and where it appeared before removal
  • A statement under penalty of perjury that removal was due to mistake/misidentification
  • Your name/address/phone + consent to jurisdiction (special rule applies if outside the U.S.) (GovInfo)

6. Repeat Infringers

In appropriate circumstances, we may suspend or terminate accounts of repeat infringers.

7. Other IP / Non-Copyright Issues

For impersonation, privacy, harassment, or other non-copyright claims, use /community-guidelines reporting (login required).
